contemporary abstract art
Numerous aspiring artists find it hard to find an inspiration for his or her work in the beginning. There is a popular saying among painters particularly that the harder you try to come up with an amazing piece, the harder it is actually to achieve what you really want. Generally, trying too hard brings about the actual opposite of what you’re actually aiming for. Many artists try to force art, but only to turn out frustrated since they hardly get it right. But once these young painters learn to do some contemporary abstract art, they are really amazed with the result.
The same thing happened to me when I tried to ‘practice’ painting just by letting my hand put anything on the canvas. I didn’t care about what the outcome would be and I had no expectations at all. This process helped me to open up my mind and my heart and make something special without worrying about the criticisms it will get.
Every time we meet an artist, we immediately think of him as someone who couldn’t care less about what others might say about him. We also appreciate how open minded they are and how easily they express anything they feel. But the truth is, many artists still cannot easily free their minds. This is a good reason why they find it difficult to come up with a non-objective abstract form of art. It is just like an artist’s instinct to consider shapes, figures and patterns and just how they must all be put together to make a wonderful painting. With contemporary abstract art, it doesn’t really matter what your main goal is. As an abstract artist, it is more valuable to create something from imagination. By trying this, you can start by having an abstract piece which could gradually look more like a landscape. Or even better, you may recognize that you’ve created something in between imagination and reality.
What’s awesome about abstract art is that making it is like an artist’s practice in meditation. It is vital that the artist be in a location where there’s nothing to distract his mind. You may try speaking on the phone while doodling. You can then take a closer look at what you have created out of doodling, and realize that it is in some way artistic. It is because doodling is done without you being conscious of what your hand is doing. You are in no control over your mind, and so whatever you write is not a reflection of what you are thinking of, but instead a reflection of how creative your mind can be. Allowing your mind to be free and letting yourself feel good in the process are a very good practice to making contemporary abstract art.
