I’ve played piano all my life now. That means that I’ve been around the instrument for about 35 years now, playing for various bands and musicians. And I’ve played all sorts of notation as well, preparing for a gig or some studio work. But if I could choose which was my favorite one I would say it was Skyscraper Sheet Music. The most awaited release of “Flexing with Monty” took more than 10 years to finish before it was finally brought into the big screen. There were unforeseen events that hindered the release of this film but we have to applaud the people behind the successful finishing of this movie. This film was first shot in 1994 and was finally completed in 2008. It took another 5 years to shelf the movie after experiencing constraints on the budget release. The lead role Monty was played by Goddard, a bodybuilder who is a workout fanatic. His performance was very realistic and with the help of director and writer John Albo, Goddard was able to make a cinematic art release for Monty’s character. The plot is focused on two brothers who have been battling with games of betrayal. Monty’s brother Bertin, played by Rudy Davis, is the younger sibling with emotional issues towards Monty. Their relationship has been further put to the test when Lilith (Sally Kirkland) came into their lives. She was a catholic nun who was seeking donations for a very vague cause. The brother’s wounded relationship has been twisted into a more severe battle to win over the heart of Lilith. It would be prejudice to provide a traditional kind of review for this movie. In order to appreciate this film, it would be best to go out and watch it personally and realize the great performances of the casts. It simply leaves the audience mesmerized with the grand effort provided during the set. It features various psychological disorders which includes oedipal lust, borderline incestuous yearnings, homophobia and homoeroticism. There were several biblical notations shared in the movie as well, bringing the audience to a point of self realization and evaluation. “Flexing with Monty” is most appealing for very matured and open-minded viewers or else they would go out of the theaters realizing that it’s just another cinematic means that markets masturbation. Monty is characterized as a strong and tough individual. But you would certainly appreciate how likable and funny he can be. If truth be told, all the people behind this film surely expressed magnificent performance. The lines have been delivered well, achieving a must-see rating. This is the creative cinematic film that has been missing from the big screens for the longest time. You would surely enjoy both the award-winning performance of the casts and the brilliant and talented direction of Goddard.
