Study Break
the only thing i ever knitted for a long time was monsters. in the shape of the letter A. they evolved in degrees of fuzziness, and types of monsters, with the new favorite being an abominable snowman. maybe i will make one of each kind soon, and put them up on display. anyways, not that any of this is at all relevant because i have no photographic history to making things interesting, i made this monster this week in lieu of studying:
he's sitting in that picture, not that its obvious or anything.
anyways, i guess i should go study for finals... 5 days til summer! :)

Argyle Sweater Vest, Part II
so, as much as i really like eunny's sweater vest, that pattern was just not designed to fit me. maybe if i was 6 inches taller, with bigger boobs and smaller hips... THEN! success would be mine. however, i've been waiting on that growth spurt since 7th grade, and my hips dont have anywhere to go so... yeah.. i just have a sweater vest that looks super in my closet.
because my last sweater was such a success, and constructed based on a swatch and measuring tape, im doing the vest again (with new, smaller yarn) the same way. this should be interesting when i get to the v-neck, but hopefully that wont happen until after finals. and by then, its not like i'll have anything else to do anyway. i'm using knit picks palette in cream and bark colors on size 3 needles. i'm hoping maybe i can lap my sister on this project. sure, she could fill a swimming pool with socks, but! i'll be the one with two vests! who is cooler now, eh?
so far, ive done the bottom, and *almost* one pattern repeat. whoot!

A Good Sweater and a Bad Throat
*finally* after many attempts and many tragedies, i have completed a sweater that really fits me! yay. my sister told me kind of the hourglass pattern over the phone, and armed with a swatch, a measuring tape, and my trusty calculator, i drew some great pictures of a boxy sweater and calculated all kinds of proportions. i was supposed to do a hem that turns inside out, but i decided that its kind of fun leaving it unfinished. also, i bound off the collar to tight, so i guess i cant really flip it in if i wanted to. i always bind off way too tight. alas. but who cares! this thing actually fits! from now on everything i make is going through a rigorous procession where swatches are made and stitches and rows get counted and products fit they they are supposed to! this is very exciting. but read this over again in a monotone voice, because i have strep throat and thats how i am talking right now. technically, this is my between-class-off-from-work nap-time, but dammit, i am so sick and tired of sleeping all day.
ok. here are the specs.
yarn: malabrigo luscious merino soft-as-can-be wool, saphire green, 3 + a little bit skeins
needles: size 9 circs
pattern: kind of hourglass? mostly just boring stockinette that doesnt require any thought. its raglan style...
fit: yes!
and dont forget the dinosaur!
the quality of these pics is kinda low. i guess my camera is hanging out with bacterial buddies too. nothing i can do about that but eat a popsicle and hope it makes both of us feel better!

Flash that Stash
ok, so im a poor college student
for the most part, think of my stash as a continuance of my sister's.
in the process of organizing my stash to be flashed, a lot of really bad ebay yarn was trashed.
